With the push of a button, the back, upper and lower leg sections can be raised to the desired height (maximum 45 degrees), allowing the user to comfortably read or watch TV in bed. They are also ideal for people who like to sleep with a slightly elevated head section. Users with mobility impairments, BWS syndrome, reflux disease, and other limitations also appreciate the advantages of the electric slatted frame. For users with specific back problems, there are infinitely adjustable bed bases with a straight extended back section: they can be used without bending the spine. Pocket spring mattresses are not suitable for this, as the springs in the core of the mattress can break due to the adjustment.

Electric slatted frame – The remote control

With the remote control, one can choose between models with electric, radio, and infrared remote control. As an electric device, it is dependent on the power supply. In the event of a power outage, the bed remains in the position it was previously in. Those who want to avoid this should choose a slatted frame with emergency power or emergency lowering. Electronic remote controls also have the disadvantage that the person lying down is in an electromagnetic field, and electromagnetic smog can be harmful to health if endured for a long time. Those who still want to have it should ensure that it can be adjusted continuously and has a network disconnection feature. This allows the unhealthy radiation to be turned off.

Users with a remote control do not have this problem. However, the constant radio signals can prove to be disturbing for sensitive individuals. Typically, electric slatted frames have at least two motors, one for the head and another for the foot section. This allows each part to be adjusted in height individually. If desired, they can also be adjusted together. The motors are mounted individually or together in a motor block on the motor frame. Some electric slatted frames even have four motors, allowing the head, upper body, foot, and heel to be adjusted individually. Sometimes the entire slatted frame can even be raised.
